5A great piano bookMay 19, 2007
By S. D. from Oregon
The Alfred Basic Piano Library is a wonderful series of books for beginning students. I have taught piano for 11 years, and this series has been very successful with many students! Some favorites of students in Level 2: Alouette, Kumbayah, Ode to Joy, Oh Susannah.

5The Best Piano Method on the Market!!!Apr 12, 2013
By Haley Jo
As a piano teacher for over 20 years, the Alfred's series remains my favorite. My students enjoy the songs which makes practice time much more enjoyable. In my beginning years as a teacher, I used another method, but found the songs unpleasant and the students more reluctant to practice. I thought I hit the jackpot when I stumbled upon these Alfred's books. The kids loved their songs and were excited over them. I have been using them ever since.

5Alfred's Piano Book 2Oct 09, 2007
By Laura Prairie "mother of young pianist"
I think this is an excellent series for beginners. It includes a song people will actually know about every three songs. The only draw back to the series is the difficulty in getting them. Thank you Amazon for making them available online. All the local music stores have stopped carrying them.

5Great bookNov 02, 2012
By DC
I am a piano teacher, and always use the Alfred books for my students. They are slow-paced, which is easily customizable to each students' learning pace. For the faster-learning students, I supplement the books with extra theory discussion and work.

5Worked great for my sonJun 30, 2013
By Jack Black II "The Lost Brother"
I started teaching my son (I'm not a piano teacher by any means), but it was great for me to be able to use and teach him based on my own playing ability. My mom teaches and recommended this course and it has been a good set of books. My son learns things quickly himself, so he was able to go through much of it on his own and did a great job.
