The BestSep 05, 2010 I loved loved loved this book!!!! It took a whole month to get here and just two days to read it :D
poor choice of printSep 03, 2010 If I had picked this book up and physically saw the type set, I would not have bought it. The story is what I expected because I've been watching the TV show but I didn't finish the written version because of the extra small type.
Not that good.Sep 02, 2010 To start off with something good, this book is a lot of fun IF you watch the TV show. Which I do. However, the book is very short (much thinner than the TV series shows with its props), and it reads like a TV show, not like a modern mystery novel.
Hot StuffAug 31, 2010 Heat Wave capitalizes on the success of the Castle TV series. It lives up to its origin. It is witty,, suspenseful and engaging.
And the heat goes onAug 30, 2010 "Heat Wave" is a fun, easy-to-read book that's just like an episode of the TV series "Castle," only the characters' names have been changed. The murder/mystery part of the plot was predictable, but the relationships between the characters and the witty dialog really kept the story moving. The story did have a couple of problems, however. First, the "real" Richard Castle would never have written about Nikki Heat's flashback to the night her mother was murdered. Castle rarely seems to take things seriously, but underneath he's a pretty sensitive guy, and he would have respected Kate's privacy about that painful subject. I also don't think he would have repeatedly referred to Nikki's blushes or fluttering heart because Kate would have taken him down verbally, if not physically. Second (and this is a MAJOR complaint) the type size in the paperback is ridiculously small and the print extends so far toward the binding that it's practically impossible to read the book. Still, I persevered, and really enjoyed "Heat Wave."
