Discovering the Path to Personal FulfillmentMar 13, 2010 Certainly, being "successful" in life is a subjective proposition. Society seems to place an emphasis on material gain, as if the amount of income someone generates determines the level of success they've achieved. The fact is, there have been countless number of well-paid individuals who couldn't care less about the material things in life; likewise, there have been countless number of people struggling to make ends meet in their chosen profession not at all concerned about whether or not they can make the next rent payment, or if they can afford to eat at the nice restaurants.
As Marshall Goldsmith has so eloquently written in this terrific book, "mojo" is a personal state of mind; whether or not you have it depends on how much personal fulfillment you experience in your endeavors. When successful, the positive attitude is evident to others, manifested by the way you walk, the way you talk, and the way you exude confidence. When you lose it, the whole world seems to know; getting it back is an often difficult process, but one you hope to master, as quickly as possible.
Goldsmith's engaging perspective is most enlightening, and well worth reading; by following his pragmatic advice, chances are you'll discover the art of finding true happiness and meaning in life, and if you stumble from time to time, there's always hope for a quick recovery.

Be Happy NowMar 09, 2010 Spend a day with one of the world's top leadership development thinkers -- the venerable Dr. Marshall Goldsmith -- and this is the zen of his message.
He filled an auditorium, no surprise, with a rapt audience of top corporate executives. Interestingly, his focus was as much on the personal aspect of our lives as the professional. A confirmation of the confluence we are experiencing in this challenging, new, 24/7 world.
Here's the best part: The importance of having Mojo in work/life, as opposed to Nojo (a wonderful counterpoint phrase invented at the request of his book editor).
What do you radiate? It makes a difference at work and at home!
In his excellent book, Goldsmith helps readers parse the activities of daily life and rank the happiness/satisfaction/value that they deliver. A life dominated by Nojo -- lack of Mojo -- can have difficult consequences. There are areas where we can take control, change and re-define the priorities in our work/life agenda.
His process gives hope to a better outcome -- but it is grounded in reality. The world has changed and the optimal course is to change ourselves, not wait for things to return to a status quo that no longer exists.
Mojo is a powerful and empowering book -- a path to something we all want.
In a world defined by change and challenge, Goldsmith shines a light on how we allocate our time and energy. He provides tools to deliver simpatico and improvement. It's a seemingly simple -- but strategic -- message. Identify your happiness, then re-invent a life to deliver more of it. Delete Nojo, Add more Mojo. Be focused and disciplined. Give thanks and gratitude. Enjoy.
Thank you, Marshall!

Coach FrankMar 07, 2010 I have known Marshall for more years than I can remember and have read just about everything he has written. The reason for this is he always has a fresh insight into the subject matter that is also practical. What I love about his latest book Mojo is that he "connects the dots" on something so pervasive that the rest of us a happy little fish swimming in those unaware waters. At it's essence Mojo is about energy. He calls it a positive spirit that starts on the inside. What the book does is gives us insight into the interplay of four dimensions that together affect our current experience of happiness and meaning. I'm not going to give away the ending, I'm just saying it is worth the read to enlighten yourself as to what you are experiencing and what you may want to do to improve it. I'm a coach and trainer of leaders, and I'm giving a copy of this to every client I have.
